I realize not everyone reading my blog will be informed of what’s going on in the advertising/media world. Therefore, I’d like to take a moment to inform all media “newbies” of technology and trends greatly influencing the advertising industry. Take for example:
1. “Online ads have quickly grown past newspaper and magazine advertising to become the second largest ad medium behind television.”— Covestor
2. “Thirty-four percent of marketers have generated leads using Twitter, and 20% have closed deals using Twitter.”— AdAge
3. “The Mobile Marketing Association of Asia stated that out of the 6 billion people on the planet, 4.8 billion have a mobile phone while only 4.2 billion own a toothbrush.” — AdAge
4. “AOL’s newsroom is now bigger than The New York Times”— BusinessInsider
5. ”Users say they’re more likely to buy if a business answers their questions on Twitter.” — TechCrunch
6. . “YouTube is the third-most-visited site on the web, with two billion views per day.” — Business2Community
7. “Companies that blog have 434% more indexed pages. And companies with more indexed pages generate far more leads from search.” — Search Engine Journal
8. “Instagram tripled its user base from 10 million in September 2011 to 30 million by April 2012. Its Android app had one million downloads on the day it was released.”— Jeff Bullas
9. “90% of people use multiple screens in the same day.”— MarketingLand
10. “Social media ad spending is projected to double between now and 2016.” — MarketingLand
As you can see from these statistics, the media landscape is changing drastically and is only going to keep changing. Therefore, integrated advertising is being adopted by agencies around the globe. Now you might ask, what is integrated advertising? As much as I would love to explain what integrated advertising is, I’d like to hand it over to BBR Saatchi and Saatchi , an advertising agency in Tel Aviv. They have created a video explaining what integrated advertising is and how it is changing the advertising industry. Enjoy!
